Petra in Tulsa

There are a number of strong connections Petra has to Tulsa, even if you don't consider all the times they have played concerts here. For example:
  • The "On Fire Video Event" was shot in late 1988 at Brady Theater in downtown Tulsa.
  • Most of the "Beyond Belief" movie was shot in Tulsa or in the area; it was written by Tom Newman of Impact Productions and stars a number of people from Tulsa. If you look quickly at one scene which takes place by a river, you can see Tulsa in the background (it's the Arkansas River, of course!); the hospital scenes were filmed at the Cancer Treatment Center at Citiplex. (Stay tuned for more detail on locations as we are able to scare it up!) The closing credits give special thanks to Victory Christian Center, Willie George Ministries, and several local businesses.
  • The video for Seen And Not Heard was reportedly shot at a warehouse in downtown Tulsa.
  • The band portions of the video for Destiny were shot at a farmhouse in south Tulsa; the portions that are not Petra feature actors from Oral Roberts University.
  • The video for the Carman-featuring-Petra song Our Turn Now was shot at Will Rogers High School in Tulsa the day after the Destiny shoot.
  • Mark Kelly, bass player from around 1980-1988, hails from Enid, Oklahoma. Okay, so it's not 61st and Yale... but it is within driving distance for a day if you have time on your hands!
